Carvoeiro Holidays

Image

Retaining its traditional Portuguese charm, Carvoeiro is one of the Algarve’s quainter resorts. Asides from a cliff-backed shoreline and small square, there isn’t a great deal going on here but that’s what makes it so picturesque. Celebrated for its maritime history with pirate and naval attacks taking place here, 1544 witnessed its most famous combat.

Summer nights were made for indulging on a terrace in its whitewashed centre or walks along its boardwalk which sits on its rocky headland, especially for those seeking Atlantic panoramas. From here, you can reach The Algar Seco, a monumental rock formation which looks even better at sunset. On-the-go types will love trying out the many activities available in and around the resort from golf to kayaking and hiking.
