This legendary Palace, built for the last Kings of Portugal in 1885, was converted into a deluxe hotel in 1917. The hotel still retains many of the original and remarkable antique furnishings, vaulted arches, marble staircases, rare tapestries, fine master paintings and objects d’art by the most notable Portuguese artists. The hotel also boasts some of the country’s most important collection of “azulejos” of the 19th century. The beautifull restaurant “Royal Dinning Hall”, former royal banquet hall decorated with ten huge paintings depicting scenes of Vasco da Gama’s voyage to India, under a magnificent Moorish ceiling, that once host historic banquets, its where you can delight yourself with fine modern Portuguese terroir cuisine flavour’s.
