Situated in the Caribbean Sea, approximately a 9 hour flight from the UK and gaining full independence from the UK in 1962 Jamaica is known for its stunning scenery, sandy beaches and lush rain forests along with a rich relaxed vibe. It is the perfect setting to escape from it all.

The island’s capital Kingston is a throbbing hive of activity with markets and gift shops and boasting some great local haunts where you can sit amongst the locals and enjoy some good honest street food. Negril boasts a 7 mile stretch of pure white sandy beach, whilst Montego Bay offers a gently shelving shore line that makes this a great option for families, couples and snorkelers. For the more active, there is also the chance to climb through the spectacular 600 feet Dunn’s River Falls cascade near Ocho Rios, go dolphin spotting or visit perhaps the museum of the islands most famous resident, Bob Marley.

The climate on Jamaica is tropical, having sunny temperatures all year round, peaking in the summer months May through until September.
