You’ll find Kokini Hani in northern Crete, where the pace is slow day and night. Set between the mountains and coastline, this small resort remains unchanged from its fishing village past. There’s no such thing as neon-lit bars or tacky souvenir shops here, everything is distinctly Greek with stores selling handmade products and tavernas using the finest locally sourced ingredients.

The village is home to two main sand spots, with the biggest to the left. There’s also a smaller option when you want to get away from the crowds. Aside from sunbathing, the resort also houses some archaeological ruins, while the almighty Palace of Knossos is within day-trip distance.
